Previous Concerts
Rutter's Magnificat and Jenkins' Stabat Mater, 11th June 2022
Holy Trinity Church, Bradford-on-Avon
A memorable evening of dramatic music from two contemporary composers. The soloist in the Magnificat was Alicia Carroll, and in the Stabat Mater the soloists were Marie Elliott and Janie Bradfield. The orchestra was led by Hannah Simons. The concert was dedicated to the memory of George Champkin, a member of the choir who sadly died on 13th May 2022. He was a great supporter of the Choral Society and is very much missed by us all.
Christmas Carol Concert, 10th December 2021
Holy Trinity Church, Bradford-on-Avon
As part of Bradford-on-Avon's Christmas Tree Festival, the choir sang two concerts, one at 6pm, the other at 8pm, each lasting an hour. The programme included choruses from Messiah by George Frideric Handel as well as a range of carols. We were especially excited to perform a new composition by one of our own members: a special arrangement of Silent Night.
Samson, 23rd October 2021
Holy Trinity Church, Bradford-on-Avon
The Choral Society gave a performance of Handel's oratorio Samson, the first live concert since the pandemic struck in 2020, and a welcome return to singing for an audience. The conductor was Alan Burgess and the orchestra was led by Maxim Del Mar. Soloists were Peter Davoren, Sebastian Field, Niall Hoskin, Alicia Caroll, Mike Entwisle, Stephanie Collishaw and Oliver Chubb.
